Weâre tired, angry, confused and yet, this space is familiar to us. This place of torment and trauma has become a home of sorts. The cycle begins in the far corners of Twitter with rumblings of a killing. Then a recording of the victimâs last moments pop up and shortly after, we finally learn the personâs name.â

Most of the time we try to separate the real from the real-real. Real being reality of things experienced inside our homes and communities; and real-real is the facade we put on every Monday morning for work or before every Teams/Zoom/Skype call. Masking the pain, hurt, sickness, humiliation, and feeling of despair that has become commonplace and a sense of normalcy.
THIS SHOULD NOT BE A NEW NORMAL!
The New Normal is mentally exhausting and yet we still perform at work in spite of what our reality is for our Family and Culture. This is unhealthy and such a burden, yet we still have to work through these circumstances.
As I obtain my second degree in Criminal Justice, I want to point out 2 words in the Amendments especially the 14th Amendment. The word's OUGHT & SHOULD need to be replaced with MUST or WILL because saying that we ought to be treated fairly and should have equality simply states that there's always an opportunity that we will be mistreated and it's not guaranteed that we will have equality!
